Valentine's Day

Is apparently also a common day for lawyers to break off and form a new firm. This is the second firm I've worked for that was "born" on Valentine's Day.

What is this?

This is my second "six months of" blog. Starting December 27, 2011, I am embarking upon six months of mindfulness, starting with Jonathan Kabat-Zinn's program in his book "Full Catastrophe Living." Mindfulness involves being present and awake in the moment, and the training involves a lot of sitting still, moving slowly, and focusing. I am a frenetic, neurotic, passionate, over-multitasking Jewish attorney/musician who absolutely sucks at those things. In the spirit of mindfulness, I am going into this open-minded and expecting neither much nor little. My writing will focus on the Kabat-Zinn program, raw foods, Jewish ways of cultivating mindfulness, and quitting facebook as a part of this six months of mindfulness.
